HEARTFELT PRAYERS AND CONDOLENCES to the family of Donnie Chmiel (son of Tom and Charlotte). We received word from Calgary of Donnie’s passing. Wieczny odpoczynek racz mu dac Panie.

TABLE AT BACK OF CHURCH WITH POLISH EASTER ITEMS: pisanki, baranki, Polish Easter cards. Proceeds to our parish. Many thanks

ST. JOSEPH’S TABLE – in vestibule. In an adaptation of the Polish tradition for St. Joseph’s Day, we’re inviting non-perishable donations, which we will deliver to the CBU food bank. Thank you for your support. Bóg zapłać.

POLISH VILLAGE REVITALIZATION: There have been many new improvements in recent months. The most recent is the restored floor in the main section of the hall. A large sign on the back will be going up shortly. Front and side doors have been replaced. Pull down welcome exhibits will go up in the next few weeks. A key component still outstanding is the Polish hands-on mini pop-up children’s museum. We already have some games, dolls, the beautiful folk rocking horse, blocks that can be used to put together famous Polish children’s stories and fairy tales, mat with Polish alphabet, and more. Alison Etter was working on this at the time of her passing, including from her hospital room, as well as an explanatory guide booklet. She was hoping to facilitate periodic Polish-themed children’s play dates once she got better. If you have some Polish dolls, games or other interesting items that you might like to consider donating, please speak with any member of the St. Michael’s executive.

FOOD CUPBOARD: Thank you very much for non-perishable items for the Food Cupboard. There are baskets to collect your kind non-perishable donations at the entrance to the church.

BOTTLES AND CANS COLLECTION FOR UKRAINIAN HUMANITARIAN RELIEF EFFORTS: In support of our Ukrainian humanitarian relief efforts, Marjorie Ardelli and Paul MacKinnon are very kindly continuing to collect recyclable bottles. They would welcome any redeemable bottles. Thanks to fellow parishioners for recent contributions of bottles and cans. Our parish has been supporting sister city Walbrzych’s Ukrainian relief efforts, plus the Catholic Near East Welfare Association and the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace.

OUR POLISH-THEMED RADIO SEGMENTS: The Coast Radio FM 89.7 (weekdays at 3:50pm and 7:50pm or any time at coastalradio.ca).
We will be recording again on Friday. We’d be grateful to anyone who would like to lend their voice.
We’re looking for sponsors and volunteers for the radio segments. It’s $100 for a whole week to sponsor. Sponsors are recognized on air – and any dedications, too (eg. if you’re sponsoring as a memorial or as a birthday or anniversary gift). The Coast is generously redirecting the sponsorships back to the St. Michael’s Polish Benefit Society (which produces the segments). If you think you might like to sponsor a week, please e-mail tom_urbaniak@cbu.ca or call 563-1226. Many thanks!

PHOTO FROM LAST WEEK: We got some heartwarming reaction on the parish Facebook last week to the photo and message about the tradition of “kaziuki” cookies, which we honoured, and the significance of St. Casimir's Day.

COLLECTION FOR MARCH 10: $1,235.75

Thank you kindly to all donors and contributors for your generosity and help for the work of our parish.

Offertory: Ludu Mój Ludu (People My People)
