OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS

OPŁATEK POTLUCK: Following the 11:00am Mass today. This will happen in the Polish Village Hall. Please join us after Mass. Thanks to anyone who was able to bring a dish to share. Thanks to Nicole for decorations. And thanks to everyone who is participating in the “pop-up Jasełka”, telling the Christmas story in a traditional Polish way! At the time of writing of this bulletin there is one role (with several words) – an angel -- still to be assigned. Please let Tom Urbaniak know if you could fill this role! Many thanks!

A BIG “DZIĘKUJEMY” to everyone who helped with our taping of Mass for Shut-Ins last Saturday. It will be broadcast today at 11:30am. As we will be in Mass, we’ll make sure to get a YouTube link by the end of the day or first thing tomorrow, and we will email it out so that you can watch at your convenience. We’d also kindly ask whoever can do so to record it, so that it can be shared that way too.

TAKING DOWN CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS: We will do this after Mass next Sunday, January 21. Thank you to anyone who can stay for a short while to assist

HOME BLESSINGS LAST WEEK: Thanks to everyone who participated. You can still get blessed chalk in the church to make the traditional inscription of K+M+B 2024 above a doorway at home.

GALICIA STREET WALK THIS COMING FRIDAY: The CBU local government class will be working over the next few months on some research, consultation, in-community learning, and possible recommendations to CBRM for the improvement, revitalization, and historical profiling/signage of Galicia Street and the Galicia Street right-of-way (which runs up as far as Jamieson St and down as far as below the abandoned tennis courts). They would be delighted to have you join them for a walk and discussion this coming Friday at 9:00am. We will meet at the church.

BOTTLES AND CANS COLLECTION FOR UKRAINIAN HUMANITARIAN RELIEF EFFORTS: In support of our Ukrainian humanitarian relief efforts, Marjorie Ardelli and Paul MacKinnon are very kindly continuing to collect recyclable bottles. They would welcome any redeemable bottles. Thanks to fellow parishioners for recent contributions of bottles and cans. Our parish has been supporting sister city Walbrzych’s Ukrainian relief efforts, plus the Catholic Near East Welfare Association and the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace.

FOOD CUPBOARD: Thank you very much for non-perishable items for the Food Cupboard. There are baskets to collect your kind non-perishable donations at the entrance to the church.

OUR POLISH-THEMED RADIO SEGMENTS: The Coast Radio FM 89.7 (weekdays at 3:50pm and 7:50pm or any time at coastalradio.ca). This coming week's segment will be on the 75th anniversary of the Polish Village Hall. Many thanks to Tony Melski for lending his voice to this segment. This segment is dedicated to Ursula Melski on the occasion of her recent birthday.
We’re looking for sponsors and volunteers for the radio segments. It’s $100 for a whole week to sponsor. Sponsors are recognized on air – and any dedications, too (eg. if you’re sponsoring as a memorial or as a birthday or anniversary gift). The Coast is generously redirecting the sponsorships back to the St. Michael’s Polish Benefit Society (which produces the segments). If you think you might like to sponsor a week, please e-mail tom_urbaniak@cbu.ca or call 563-1226. Many thanks!
