OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS

STO LAT! Best wishes and many blessings to Bernie Paruch on his birthday! Wszystkiego dobrego!

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING is postponed by one week to Sunday, December 3, after Mass. We need a little bit more time to ensure that all reports are ready. Thanks very kindly to everyone. This means that Rada nominations are still open (until Wednesday). If you might consider offering or recommending someone, please speak with Marjorie Ardelli. A reminder that, as per the by-laws, nominations must be submitted in advance.

SYLWESTRA / NEW YEAR’S EVE TICKETS: Will be on sale after Mass from Bernie LaRusic. $15. DJ Robin Krszwda. 9:00pm to 1:00am at the Polish Village Hall. Light supper. It’s always a very enjoyable event. This is a major fund-raiser for the St. Michael’s Polish Benefit Society.

ŚWIĘTY MIKOŁAJ (ST. NICHOLAS) visit will take place after Mass on December 10. He will bring small presents for children. Our December parish lunch will be held that day.

OPŁATEK AND POLISH CHRISTMAS CARDS will be available at the back of the church as of next Sunday.

DZIĘKUJEMY! A big thank you to everyone who took part in our beautiful literary reading after Mass last Sunday. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the lunch.

THANK YOU to everyone who attended the post-Polish Heritage Month volunteer appreciation at the Polish Village Hall last Saturday, despite the stormy weather! It was a pleasant evening. Thanks to everyone who helped put it on. Our guests from Halifax have sent a note of thanks for the wonderful hospitality they received when attending the annual general meeting of the Atlantic Canada District of the Canadian Polish Congress and associated events.

PHOTOS: Please check out our parish Facebook page for photos from last weekend’s activities, including the cake-cutting to honour our choir (St. Cecilia’s Day)!

BOTTLES AND CANS COLLECTION FOR UKRAINIAN HUMANITARIAN RELIEF EFFORTS: In support of our Ukrainian humanitarian relief efforts, Marjorie Ardelli and Paul MacKinnon are very kindly continuing to collect recyclable bottles. They would welcome any redeemable bottles. Thanks to fellow parishioners for recent contributions of bottles and cans. Our parish has been supporting sister city Walbrzych’s Ukrainian relief efforts, plus the Catholic Near East Welfare Association and the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace.

FOOD CUPBOARD: Many thanks for bringing any non-perishable contributions to Mass.

OUR POLISH-THEMED RADIO SEGMENTS: The Coast Radio 89.7 (weekdays at 3:50pm and 7:50pm or any time at coastalradio.ca). This coming week's segment will be about maślanka – butter milk – a popular beverage in the Polish tradition. Many thanks to Rosalie Starzomski for lending her voice to the segment!
We’re looking for sponsors and volunteers for the radio segments. It’s $100 for a whole week to sponsor. Sponsors are recognized on air – and any dedications, too (eg. if you’re sponsoring as a memorial or as a birthday or anniversary gift). The Coast is generously redirecting the sponsorships back to the St. Michael’s Polish Benefit Society (which produces the segments), which has been a big help to the Society. If you think you might like to sponsor a week, please e-mail tom_urbaniak@cbu.ca or call 563-1226. Many thanks!

COLLECTION FOR NOVEMBER 19: $808.25. Thank you for your generosity and crucial support to carry on the work, ministry, and operation of our parish.
