NOVA SCOTIA POLISH HERITAGE MONTH steering committee is meeting this evening at 7:00pm. Some activities being worked on:
-Sunrise service at our church on September 1 – release of doves (solemn 84th anniversary of the invasion of Poland and the start of World War II.)
-Pogoria Polish Folk Ensemble – featured artist – exhibits – September 8 to 10
-110th anniversary of parish – Mass and reception September 10
-Unveiling of Twin City Pocket Park

-Photo exhibit on twin city Walbrzych/summer school (director Jerzy Skolimowski)
-Parish retreat/unveiling of Copernicus sundial in Gabarus – Sept. 23 (so grateful if you could set aside this day).
Any additional activities, large or small, will be added to the calendar. Please don’t hesitate to encourage your contacts in the community (including non-Polish) to mark Polish Heritage Month (September) in some way.

A REQUEST TO FELLOW PARISHIONERS: We’re looking for a few fellow parishioners who can be part of a short-term volunteer pilot in collaboration with CBU and other parishes to accompany newcomer students to initial meetings with landlords. It’s not labour-intensive, but we’re looking for a few caring people to pilot this for a few months and set a tone for a potentially expanded program. There will be a volunteer orientation on Monday, July 24, from 12 noon to 2:00pm. If you might be interested, please let Tom Urbaniak know. Thanks so much!

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS are with fellow parishioners who are sick, in the hospital, or in long-term care, including Steve Sokolowski and Teresa Fagan.

ALTAR SOCIETY: Thank you to Marilyn and Joe Gillis who are this month’s designated Altar Society volunteers.

FOOD CUPBOARD: Please consider bringing a non-perishable food or personal care item (e.g. shampoo, soap, toilet paper) to church when you come to Mass. There is a collection box at the entrance to the church. We try to fill the Food Cupboard after each Sunday Mass. Thank you so much!

OUR POLISH-THEMED RADIO SEGMENTS: The Coast Radio 89.7 (weekdays at 3:50pm and 7:50pm or any time at coastalradio.ca). This coming week's topic will be the ongoing work on a Polish archival welcome exhibit (mobile) for the Polish Village Hall with guest Susan MacNeil-Singh of the CBU Beaton Institute. This segment is dedicated to Shirley Ardelli and Peggy Ryba on the occasion of their birthday.
We’re always looking for sponsors and volunteers. It’s $100 for a whole week. Sponsors are recognized on air – and any dedications, too (eg. if you’re sponsoring as a memorial or as a birthday or anniversary gift). The Coast is generously redirecting the sponsorships back to the St. Michael’s Polish Benefit Society (which produces the segments), which has been a big help to the Society. If you think you might like to sponsor a week, please e-mail tom_urbaniak@cbu.ca or call 563-1226. Many thanks!

POGORIA POLISH FOLK ENSEMBLE: Practice/meeting after Mass today in the Polish Village Hall.

COLLECTION FOR JULY 16: $825.00 including $200.00 to Ukraine relief and $100.00 to the Building Fund. Sincere thanks! Bόg zapłać!

RECENT IMO (IN MEMORY OF) CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE BUILDING FUND:
