OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS

Szczęśliwego dnia ojca! Happy Father’s Day!

BOŻE CIAŁO PROCESSION: Weather permitting – Procession at the end of Mass, in keeping with the Polish customs for Boże Ciało / Corpus Christi: The short procession will go to the grotto/garden with the Blessed Sacrament for a blessing. This is an especially important feast day in the Polish tradition. For generations, during time of war and occupation, Poles organized processions on this day as a demonstration of the resilience of their faith through difficult times. Thank you to Ursula Melski for coordinating this year.

CHRISTIAN SERVICE AND OUTREACH: At its recent meeting, the Rada discussed the impact of last year’s Christian Service and Outreach budget line, where the parish has helped to meet some basic needs in the community and support effective programs for people who are living in extremely difficult circumstances. This budget line draws on part of the annual return on investment on the parish endowment and is specifically intended to help us try to do more to be Christ’s hands and feet in our community. Last year, we helped with the start-up of the Father Greg MacLeod House, helped the Whitney Pier Youth Club to get food to youth and families in need in the Pier, covered the cost of hygiene kits and other basic supplies for residents of Howard House, and helped the community Street Nurse Pilot program (under the auspices of the Ally Centre) get through the first year and find more stable funding. The consensus on the Rada was to try to continue helping the same programs, especially since they were able to stretch the dollars and leverage our support for other support. So, at this time, the Rada endorsed $3,000 to the Whitney Pier Youth Club toward food; $2,000 to help the street nurse start an urgent dental care program for struggling members of our community (our contribution will be matched by New Dawn Enterprises); $1,000 to help the Father Greg MacLeod House get ready for its second year; and $1,000 to further aid residents of Howard House with basic supplies as they transition into the community. Later in the year, the Rada will be in a position to look at some additional support from the same budget line. Many thanks to all.

GETTING READY FOR NOVA SCOTIA POLISH HERITAGE MONTH: Planning is well underway for September – with again a range of activities, large and small. If you would like to do something in your home, school, workplace, or community organization to honour the month, please let us know. We will recognize it in the official calendar!

ST. MICHAEL’S POLISH BENEFIT SOCIETY – ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: Next Sunday, June 26, at 7:00pm by Zoom – with presentation about upcoming hall improvements and new cultural content for hall. For Society membership info, please speak with Jerry Pocius (gpocius@mun.ca).

OUR POLISH-THEMED RADIO SEGMENTS: The Coast Radio 89.7 (weekdays at 3:50pm and 7:50pm or any time at coastalradio.ca). This coming week will feature the Polish studniόwka graduation tradition with guest Patricia Ryba. This segment is dedicated in memory of Delores Starzomski from Tom Urbaniak and Alison Etter.
We’re always looking for sponsors and volunteers. It’s $100 for a whole week. Sponsors are recognized on air – and any dedications, too (eg. if you’re sponsoring as a memorial or as a birthday or anniversary gift). The Coast is generously redirecting the sponsorships back to the St. Michael’s Polish Benefit Society (which produces the segments), which has been a big help to the Society. If you think you might like to sponsor a week, please e-mail tom_urbaniak@cbu.ca or call 563-1226. Many thanks!

UKRAINIAN HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE: We are continuing to fund-raise in order to support our twin city Wałbrzych to care for the thousands of refugees in their city; as well as humanitarian efforts on the ground by Caritas (via the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace) and the Catholic Near East Welfare Association. There are envelopes at the back of the church marked “Ukrainian Humanitarian Assistance.” You can also make a cheque to St. Mary’s Polish Parish and mark “Ukrainian Humanitarian Assistance” in the memo line. Or make a designated, secure donation on the parish’s CanadaHelps page: www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/st-marys-polish-parish/ God bless! Thank you so much for your caring and support! Donations will be included in your tax receipt at the end of the year.

FOOD CUPBOARD: Please consider bringing a non-perishable food or personal care item (e.g. shampoo, soap, toilet paper) to church when you come to Mass. These items will help stock our food cupboard outside the Polish Village Hall. There is a significant need in our community. Thank you for any help.

PUBLIC HEALTH PROTOCOLS – MASKS STILL STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Thanks for all your kindness, patience, and co-operation.

COLLECTION FOR June 12: $724.00, including $50 for the Building Fund and $50 for Ukrainian humanitarian relief. Many thanks, everyone, for your kindness and generosity!

PIEŚNI / HYMNS:

Entrance:Błogi czas nam teraz świeci (A Holy Time Shines Upon Us)
Błogi czas nam teraz świeci, o Jezu kochany,/ Miesiąc czerwiec co miesiącem serca twego zwany,/ O, niech dojdzie głos nasz Ciebie,/ Niechaj serce Twoje w niebie Przyjmie cześć, Przyjmie cześć,/ Którą grzeszni, lecz skruszeni,/ U nóg Twoich ukorzeni, Chcemy nieść, chcemy nieść

Offertory: Jezu Bądz ze Mną (Jesus Be With Me) – hymn #28 on p49 of the book in the pews, Przez Pokolenia: Prayers and Customs of St. Mary’s Polish Church.

Communion: Bądźże pozdrowiona, Hostio żywa (Be Welcomed Living Host) - choir

Post-Communion: Święty Boże, Święty Mocny (Holy God, Holy Strength)
Święty Boże, Święty mocny,/ Święty a Nieśmiertelny/ Zmiłuj się nad nami… Od powietrza, głodu, ognia i wojny/ Wybaw nas Panie!/ Od nagłej i niespodzianej śmierci Zachowaj nas Panie!. My grzeszni Ciebie Boga prosimy/ Wysłuchaj nas Panie!

Procession to Outside: Twoja cześć, chwała (Your praise and glory)
Twoja cześć, chwała, nasz wieczny Panie,/ Na wieczne czasy niech nie ustanie./ Tobie dziś dajem z wojskiem tych ludzi,/ Pokłon i pienie, my twoi słudzy./ Dziękując wielce twej wielmożności,/ Za ten dar zacny twej wszechmocności./Żeś się darował nam nic niegodnym, W tym Sakramencie nam tu przytomnym./Raczyłeś zostać w takiej osobie,/Dla nas grzeszników nie folgując sobie,/ Ciało twe święte co krzyżowali,/ I krew najświętszą którą przelali./Przyszedłszy na świat Pan wiecznej chwały,/Użyłeś wiele nędzy niernałej./Dałeś się potem z wielkiej miłości,/Na męki srogie bez twej litości./Wstępując potem do chwały wiecznej,/Zostawiłeś nam, ten to dar zacny./Na co my patrząc w tym Sakramencie, Z pociechą wielką, serce nam roście./ Tobie my Boże teraz śpiewamy,/Przed twą światłością nizko padamy./Użycz nam łaski wszechmocny Boże,/ Bez twej pomocy człek nic nie może.

After the Blessing, Outside: Ciebie Boże chwalimy [Holy God We Praise Thy Name]
Ciebie Boże chwalimy,/Ciebie, Stwórcę wszechmocnego./Ze wszystkich sił wielbimy./Dawco wszystkiego dobrego,/w dobroci nieskończony,/ bądź na wieki chwalony

Życzymy błogosławionego tygodnia / Wishing you a blessed week!
