WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY: The theme this year is “They showed us unsusual kindness” (Acts 2). We will reflect on this tomorrow evening (6:30pm) at the KAIROS gathering in our church (Sala 1050).

PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY (this week being the week when Christians of all denominations reflect on overcoming their distances). The resources this year have been prepared by the Christian churches of Malta. The preamble reads:“Dear sisters and brothers in Christ, we pray for unity among Christians and reconciliation in the world. Divisions among Christians have existed for many centuries. This causes great pain and is contrary to God’s will. We believe in the power of prayer. Together with Christians all over the world, we offer our prayers as we seek to overcome separation.”

TRANSLATION OF TODAY’S SECOND READING FROM PAUL’S LETTER TO THE CORINTHIANS: Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, to the church of God that is in Corinth, to you who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be holy, with all those everywhere who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
