WITAMY! Our parish warmly welcomes this morning the senior delegation from our new partner city -- Wałbrzych! With us are Dr. Roman Szełemej, Mayor (President of the City) of Wałbrzych; Pani Anna Żabska, CEO of the Książ Castle, and Pan Arek Grudzień, Director of Tourism, Culture and Sport. We wish them well with their meetings and activities in our region and are delighted that this partnership is in place! We hope it will thrive for many years to come.

LUNCH AFTER MASS TODAY: This is an informal "meet and greet" with our guests from Wałbrzych. Everyone is welcome. It will be in Sala 1050 (meeting area at the back of the church). After lunch, we will do a walking tour of parts of Whitney Pier with our guests.

NON-PERISHABLE ITEMS FOR LOAVES AND FISHES FOOD BANK: Thanks for your contributions today. There will be a box near the entrance to the lunch area.

SZCZĘŚLIWEGO DNIA OJCA! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! We honour all fathers living and deceased. Wishing you many blessings. There are Polish Father's Day cards at the back of the church.

FLAG-RAISING: Tomorrow at 12:10pm, please join us if you can at City Hall. There will be a flag-raising outside, then Mayor's Reception and short ceremonial Council meeting in honour of our delegation from Wałbrzych.

PLEASE MARK ON YOUR CALENDARS THE EVENING OF SUNDAY, JUNE 30th: Free social at the Polish Village Hall, hosted by the St. Michael's Polish Benefit Society. Prof. Pylat will give a short presentation. We'll do some brief official business ( St. Mike's AGM), but otherwise enjoy a nice holiday evening get-together. Everyone is welcome.

REBUILDING DONOR WALL UPDATE: To address some challenges around graphic design, we have to separate out the work for the actual wall versus graphic design expertise. A few other errors (names) also came to our attention, so we have printed a very nice temporary banner (smaller than the final version) for display for three months, after which we can correct any further errors and do the more permanent wall. The temporary banner will be up as of this week so that we can begin recognizing donors. Thanks for your kind patience.

ANNIVERSARY SUPPER: We will have the 110th anniversary supper for the St. Michael’s Polish Benefit Society on Saturday, September 14th. More details to follow.

OUTDOOR LANDSCAPING/PLANTING IDEAS: Please don’t hesitate to speak with John Morykot (Property Committee rep).

TRANSLATION OF TODAY’S SECOND READING FROM PAUL’S LETTER TO THE ROMANS: Brothers and sisters: Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope, and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.

“Holy Spirit, make us artisans of harmony, sowers of good, apostles of hope!” --A recent message from Pope Francis on Twitter

WHITNEY PIER COMMUNITY KITCHEN PROJECT: Everyone is welcome for a warm meal and fellowship in a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. Every week, we have a diverse cross-section of the community. Meals are served every Wednesday from 11:30am to 1:00pm in our Sala 1050. Meals are free of charge or donate what you can to support the project. Many thanks to all volunteers and donors. Please note that the Community Kitchen will take a break during the months of July and August, resuming 11th of September. The final meal before the summer break is June 26th.
