A  NOTE OF  PRAYER AND SOLIDARITY: Our parish received this very thoughtful note from Dr. Syed Arsalan Raza of the Muslim Society of Cape Breton (with whom we have worked on recent projects). Our Muslim neighbours wanted to reach out to Christians in our community.
With a heavy heart, I write this email to offer my condolences for the sad news from Sri Lanka. The abhorrence of such acts is deepened when peaceful worshippers are attacked and the sanctity of places of worship is violated. The terrorists are a common enemy of all faith communities as repeatedly observed in the incidents of recent times. They have no true sense of religion; their claiming of an individual religion as their own is an insult to the religion itself. May Allah grant relief to the injured and ease pain of everyone impacted.
With sincere regardsand prayers,
-Dr. Syed Arsalan Raza

“Christ is risen, and with Him our creative hope arises to face the problems of our day, because we know we are not alone.” --A recent message from Pope Francis on Twitter
