COMMUNITY KITCHEN PROJECT: Thanks to everyone who has been helping out! This is a collaborative project – a service to the community -- of our parish and other local faith communities and organizations, arising from a need identified on our recent community development walks. It happens weekly here at our church. Free of charge or donate what you can. Wednesdays from 11:30am to 1:00pm. All welcome.

BAKED GOODS FOR POLISH HARVEST FESTIVAL: We would be very grateful for any baked goods (uncut). Please bring to the Polish Village Hall Sunday morning before Mass. Thank you!

FINAL COOKING SESSION TO PREPARE FOR FESTIVAL: Friday morning October 12, 9:30am Many thanks for the help!

LAST SUNDAY’S LAUNCH OF THE ATLANTIC CANADA DISTRICT OF THE CANADIAN POLISH CONGRESS: The walk and the workshop/roundtable “Polonia in Partnership” went well, as did the business meeting that followed. The district is now established (its address is here in Sydney, at the Polish Village Hall). Being linked into the Congress will be a source of mutual support for us. It will also give us a voice at the national table. Thank you to Wladyslaw Lizon, national president of the Canadian Polish Congress, for his visit last Sunday. Also, thank you to the steering committee that worked on the details over the past several months.

DOŻYNKI POLISH HARVEST FESTIVAL: Sunday, October 14th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at the Polish Village Hall. We will have Polish food, a small Polish market, dance and folk song demonstrations, and children's games! There is no admission charge. Everyone is welcome. Please spread the word. Zapraszamy!

VOLUNTEERING ON THE DAY OF THE DOŻYNKI HARVEST FESTIVAL: Tom Urbaniak has a list of different roles. Please speak with him after Mass or call 902-563-1226. Thanks for your help in any role. It’s really appreciated! We will have a short meeting of all volunteers right after Mass next Sunday  to make sure everything is in place.

POSTERS FOR POLISH HARVEST FESTIVAL: If you can put up some posters in your place of work or elswhere, please see Tom after Mass.

“DOORS OPEN” – TOURS OF OUR CHURCH DURING THE ISLAND-WIDE CELTIC COLOURS FESTIVAL: We have been asked to provide tours on Wednesday, October 10, from 12 noon to 4:00pm. If you would like to be a tour guide, warmly welcome visitors from near and far, please speak with Tom Urbaniak (902-563-1226). Resources to give to visitors will be provided and some “tour guide training” (historical info about our church) if you wish! Dziękujemy bardzo!
