OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS

IN MEMORY OF (IMO) CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE REBUILDING FUND:

FATHER JOE MRÓZ is our celebrant and resident priest for a couple of weeks, and will be celebrating Mass today and next Sunday, as well as the weekday Masses. Father Joe asked to pass along his thanks to parishioners, noting: “Keep up the good work and God bless!”

LOAVES AND FISHES: Thank you for your contributions last week, which were delivered to Loaves and Fishes.

PARISH’S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING: after the 10:00am Mass today. A written annual report will also be distributed. There were advance copies at the back of the church last week. The meeting will be in the main church, so we would be most grateful if you could remain

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING MASSES: Please note that due to pastoral changes, the final Sunday 4:00pm Mass will be on June 24. Discussions are underway about the timing of the Sunday morning Mass

FAREWELL RECEPTION FOR FR. RICH: Please mark in your calendars Saturday, June 23, at 7:00pm at the Polish Village Hall. This will be an informal appreciation reception. If you can bring a dish, please let any member of the Rada know.

POGORIA POLISH FOLK ENSEMBLE: rehearsal tomorrow (Monday) evening at 6:00pm at the Polish Village Hall.

COMMUNITY KITCHEN STEERING COMMITTEE. The next meeting is tomorrow, Monday, June 11, at 4:00pm (a week from tomorrow). This is for the weekly meals in our church (in collaboration with other faith communities), starting late September for six-month pilot, free or pay-what-you-can, restoring a service previously offered at Trinity United Church before it closed in 2013.

THE CANADIAN POLISH CONGRESS – ATLANTIC CANADA DISTRICT is going ahead. This will give our Polish organizations direct access to national support/collaboration. A steering committee has been meeting by teleconference to make this happen. The launch will be on Sunday, Sept. 30, in Sydney. Everyone will be welcome. Wladyslaw Lizon, national president of the Canadian Polish Congress, will be here. Representatives of Polish groups in Halifax will be here too.

KITCHEN CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: After deliberation, the Rada decided to go with a higher, more durable quality of wood cabinets. These will take about six weeks to arrive, so we will have a short lull in construction. We’re looking forward to this final piece of our rebuilding!

SECOND DRAFT OF REBUILDING DONORS’ LIST is in binders at the back of the church. Please make corrections right on the sheets. These will be taken back after today to start working on the donor wall. Dziekujemy

June 12: Feast of the 108 Blessed Polish Martyrs of World War II: In 1999, during a visit to Poland, St. John Paul II beatified 108 lay and religious Poles who lost their lives because they stood up to the evil of the Nazi occupation, tried to save others in the face of persecution and murder, opposed anti-Semitism, and continued to practice their faith. This Tuesday is their feast day. We pray for their intercession as we strive to end all hatred, war and genocide.

PARTIAL TRANSLATION OF TODAY'S SECOND READING FROM CORINTHIANS: Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God. Therefore, we are not discouraged; rather, although our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

POPE FRANCIS' UNIVERSAL PRAYER INTENTION FOR JUNE: That social networks may work towards that inclusiveness which respects others for their differences

IN MEMORIAM / BUILDING FUND ENVELOPES / REBUILDING FUND ENVELOPES are at the back of the church. Many thanks for your support.
