OGŁOSZENIA / ANNOUNCEMENTS

FATHER RICH REPORTS:
Dear Parishioners & Friends:
Christ is Risen Alleluia! Shouts, chants and greetings ring throughout the world as all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ -- Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants -- all proclaim that He is Risen and we believe. The victory over sin and death gives us all great hope for the future beyond our own grave that we too can share the resurrected life of our Saviour. May the joy and happiness that comes this day as we celebrate Easter be with us all the days (including the darker ones) of life until we also can share the glory of the Risen Lord. I wish to extend to all our parishioners, former parishioners, visitors and friends of our parish most sincere Blessed Easter greetings “Wesolego Alleluja”- Christ is Risen indeed! The novena of Divine Mercy that began on Good Friday will continue throughout the week and conclude on Easter Saturday (First Saturday of April) after the 8:30am Mass. Next Sunday is the Feast of Divine Mercy. After the 10:00am Mass, when we will also chant the chaplet in English and Polish, we will have the Blessed Sacrament exposed for adoration until before the 4:00pm Mass when there will be again the chaplet recited and Benediction will take place. We will welcome next week the Knights of Columbus Council 1060 members for our 4:00pm Mass. Before that Mass the chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed, followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at about 3:50pm. Our PREP Confirmation Class are reminded of the obligatory participation in the special day of activity(retreat and play) on Saturday, April 14th from 11:00am to 4:15pm at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Sydney River. Our next PREP class will be Sunday April 8th after the 10:00am Mass. Many thanks to all who helped make Holy Week a beautiful experience in our church especially to our organist and choir who provided music several times in one week!

IN MEMORY OF (IMO) CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE REBUILDING FUND:
IMO Minnie Matheson from Hazel Kokocki; Bill Coffin
IMO Michael Ardelli & Dawn Marie Wadden from Marjorie Ardelli
Other donations: Polish Micro Market, Anne Marie & Jimmie Campbell, Judy Roston

PLEASE NOTE: After the 10:00am Mass next Sunday, there will be exposition of the blessed Sacrament and adoration, culminating in a Mass with the intentions of the Knights of Columbus at 4:00pm.

EASTER POLISH TRADITION: In the Polish tradition, on Easter Sunday, we divide blessed eggs into many pieces and share these pieces around the table, as we pray for everyone present. This is somewhat like the Christmas Oplatek. (We will observe this tradition as a parish at our Easter breakfast, April 15.) Easter Monday in the Polish tradition is also called Śmigus-Dyngus. People often spray each other with water to represent the joy of Easter time, a fresh start, and some gentle teasing, too!

THIS YEAR’S “ROYAL TEA” will be on Sunday, April 8, at 12 noon (to 2:00pm) Tickets are $15. Please get your tickets from Nicole Baker (371-5088; nicole_w_baker@hotmail.com). This is a fun, traditional high tea, and usually a sell-out event! This year’s tea will help complete renovations to the Polish Village Hall.

PARISH EASTER BREAKFAST (ŚWIĘCONKA BREAKFAST) will be held on Sunday, April 15, after the 10:00am Mass in Sala 1050. Everyone is welcome. The following is a list of parishioners who are next in the rotation to please bring a dish (with a special encouragement for any items related to Easter): Eileen Fagan-Steele and family, Peggy Ryba, Catherine and Herb Tucker, Jancia and Bernie LaRusic, Rita MacDonald, Ursula Melski, Judi and Peter McCarron, Krista Ann Starzomski and family, Sophie and Roddie O’O'Toole, Wayne Joseph, Patsy Kiley, Evelyn Wojcik. If you are not on the parish brunch rotation and would like to be, please speak with Tom Urbaniak (902-563-1226). Many thanks!

DZIĘKUJEMY! Thank you for the contributions yesterday to Loaves and Fishes at our 105th annual blessing of the Easter Baskets (Swiecenie Pokarmow Wielkanocnych). Thank you as well for everyone who helped to put together and deliver baskets for blessing for homebound parishioners.

THE ALTAR SOCIETY is inviting anyone who would like to be a part of the Altar Society. It involves from time to time being designated (with someone else) for a month or a couple of weeks to help keep the altar and sacred areas of the church in good order and prepared (a list and “mini-tutorial” will be provided). Also, close to the feast day of Our Lady of La Salette (Matka Boska Saleytnska), Sept. 19, we will organize something to pray for and thank the Altar Society, whose work we value very much. For more info, please call 902-563-1226.

NEXT POLSKI PIĄTEK: theme “Galicia Night” – Friday, April 20. Everyone is welcome!

PLEASE CONSIDER SPONSORING A PEACOCK FEATHER FOR $100 AT THE POLISH VILLAGE HALL: We are going to try to get them painted in time for the May 3 Polish holiday! Your name, or the name of a person in whose memory you designate, will be permanently inscribed on the wall below a painted peacock feather downstairs in the Polish Village Hall. The hall has recently gone through some major improvements. Thanks for your help in promoting the hall as a hub for the community. Please speak with any member of the St. Michael’s Polish Benefit Society or call 902-564-8494

"Peace be with you!" (Jn 20:19,20). This is the first greeting of the Risen One to his disciples; a greeting which echoes today throughout the world. O Good News, so long awaited, so greatly desired! O proclamation of consolation for all those oppressed beneath the burden of sin and its many structures! For all, especially for the least and the poor, we proclaim today the hope of peace, of true peace, founded on the solid pillars of love and justice, of truth and freedom. St. John Paul II, Easter mesage of 2003. Pokój z wami!
